Dr. Uchaimid Biridlo’i Robby is an alumnus of the Doctor of Public Administration Program at Diponegoro University (UNDIP) who demonstrates a consistent track record in developing public administration science while making tangible contributions to policy and governance in Indonesia. With a strong academic background and cross-sectoral practical experience, Dr. Uchaimid has successfully integrated roles as an academician, higher education leader, and now a national researcher at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
Prior to embarking on a full-time career as a researcher, Dr. Uchaimid served as a lecturer in Public Administration for over five years. In his academic journey, he was entrusted with a strategic position as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, Krisnadwipayana University (UNKRIS), a role he held until 2023. In that position, he was responsible for coordinating the academic management of the Public Administration, Business Administration, and Postgraduate Programs.
A key achievement of his leadership was the formulation and implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (Freedom to Learn – Independent Campus) curriculum, strengthening collaboration networks with government agencies, and developing collaborative research between the university and the public sector. Previously, Dr. Uchaimid also served as Head of the Public Administration Program at UNKRIS, focusing on improving academic service quality, program governance, and strengthening student confidence in educational quality.
Beyond his work in academia, Dr. Uchaimid has extensive experience in policy research and regional development planning. He was involved as a Research Assistant in various strategic projects, including the development of the Business Plan for PT. BBWM (Perseroda) of Bekasi City and the Bekasi City Mid-Term Regional Development Plan (RPJMD). This involvement provided important contributions to data-driven regional policy formulation and comprehensive policy analysis, while enriching his academic perspective on the dynamics of local government and public sector management.
Currently, Dr. Uchaimid Biridlo’i Robby serves as a Senior Researcher at the Domestic Government Research Center (PRPDN) of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). In this role, he actively leads and participates in various national strategic research projects focused on public administration, local government innovation, digital transformation, public participation, and sustainable development governance.
In 2025, Dr. Uchaimid was entrusted as the Lead Research for the BRIN CRC.RP-1-09 research scheme titled “Digital Transformation in Regional Government Administration to Increase Public Participation.” This research emphasizes the importance of digital transformation in local government as an instrument to enhance the quality of democracy and community involvement in the public policymaking process.
Previously, in 2024, he was a member of the BRIN research team for CRC.RP-2.B-06, which studied the “Readiness to Utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Indonesia’s Tourism Sector Development.” Furthermore, Dr. Uchaimid was also involved as a member of the BIMA Team (Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology) in researching “Collaborative Governance through an Ecological Approach in the Development of Saba Budaya,” which underscores the importance of collaborative and ecological approaches in culture- and community-based policy.
Dr. Uchaimid’s academic contributions are reflected in various reputable national and international scientific publications addressing issues such as the green economy, environmental governance, digital government, public service innovation, and community participation. This series of publications affirms his position as a productive, relevant, and impactful public administration researcher, demonstrating the tangible contribution of UNDIP’s Doctor of Public Administration alumni to strengthening evidence-based public policy.
Dr. Uchaimid pursued his higher education consistently and sequentially in Public/State Administration, starting with a Bachelor’s in State Administration from Jenderal Soedirman University, a Master’s in Public Administration from UNDIP, culminating in a Doctorate in Public Administration from UNDIP. His doctoral education at UNDIP formed the primary foundation for strengthening his analytical, methodological, and strategic capacities, particularly in issues of government innovation and public sector digitalization.
